ABOUT THE COLLEGEHarendra-Chitra College, Bhaktardoba (affiliated by Gauhati University) began life as an institution of higher education from 1992-93 under Barpeta District located centrally in wide area which accommodates 3 (Three) Mauzas Paka Mauza, Betbari Mouza and Sarukhetri Mauza under Barpeta District. With a view to established this college a Governing Body was formatted headed by Mr. Mukaddes Ali Ahmed as President and Mr. Muksed Ali Ahmed as Secretary Consisting 35 Members of different places. The Deshbhakta Rural Development Association a prominent NGO of the area first organized a meeting to establish a college and accordingly presided over by Mr. Elim Uddin Khan (B.A.B.T.), Headmaster, Paschim-Paka Azad Memorial High School. The first land donated by Mr. Fazar Ali, S/o-Late Taher Ali, Nali Gaon to open the College.
Mr. Sirajul Hoque, Advocate, Barpeta & Ex MLA of Sarukhetri has the vital role in Connection with the Contribution of Mr. Harendra Nath Das and Mrs. Chitra Bala Das of Barpeta. With the College authority must have to recollect contribution of Mr. Ismail Hussain, then Minister, Govt. of Assam & Chairman of Barpeta LAC and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Alok Kumar I.A.S. then Deputy Commissioner of Barpeta District.
Mission and GoalsThe institution aims an imparting knowledge of various disciplines amongst the youths of rural populace of the region to make them responsible and competent to face the challenges of modern world and contribute towards upliftment of society.
Besides it endeavors to set an example of unity and integrity among different sections of people of the locality.
